Privacy Policy

1. Our Commitment

MasterCopy respects your privacy to the greatest extent.

2. Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored only on your Mac and is never transmitted:

• Settings - Verification mode, notification preferences, UI settings
• Log files - Processing times, error codes, technical information
• MHL manifests - File hashes, sizes, timestamps, app version

Logs do not record full file paths. MHL files are data managed by you, and the app never transmits them externally.

3. Network Communication

The app communicates only for:

• Update checks - To check whether a newer version exists, the app sends only the app identifier (Bundle ID) to the App Store (itunes.apple.com) and receives the latest version number. The comparison happens locally in the app, and the update itself is performed by the App Store. No personal information, usage data, or file information is sent, and no check occurs while offline.
• In-app purchase - To purchase or restore Pro, the app communicates with the App Store (Apple). Payment is processed by Apple; we do not receive your payment information.
• Support & contact - The "Report a Bug", support, and contact links open our support page or contact form in your browser. The app itself does not transmit logs, usage data, or personal information (anything you enter is provided voluntarily by you on the website).

No network communication occurs during file copy operations. Copied file contents, names, and paths are never transmitted. Any information you choose to provide on our support page or contact form is used only for troubleshooting and support, and is never shared with or sold to third parties.

4. Data Deletion

MasterCopy runs in a sandbox; its data is stored at:

• ~/Library/Containers/tokyo.alps.mastercopy/

Removing the app may leave this folder in place. To delete the data completely, remove the app and then move this folder to the Trash manually.

5. Third-Party Sharing

MasterCopy does not provide, sell, or share user data with any third parties.

6. Cookies & Tracking

The app does not use cookies, tracking beacons, or analytics tools.

7. Children's Privacy

While the App is suitable for users of all ages, we do not intentionally collect personal information from minors.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated without prior notice. In case of significant changes, we will notify you within the App. The latest version is available in the App (Settings > Privacy Policy) and at mastercopy.alps.tokyo/privacy.
